Cutest Animals That Can Become Your Pets Too!

Number 11 – Sugar Glider

Sugar Glider

The Sugar gliders are a type of marsupial that belong to the Petauridae possum family. The small little creatures are often compared to flying squirrels. They’re indigenous to Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

The Sugar Glider spends the day resting in nests in trees and remains active at night. Most sugar gliders are nocturnal, highly sociable creatures. They have six to ten adults and children living with them in tiny communities. An average sugar glider measures only 8 to 12 inches from head to tail tip and weighs around 4 to 5 ounces. The average life expectancy of sugar gliders ranges between 3 to 7 years.

The fur of sugar gliders ranges in hue from light grey to light brown, with their bellies having lighter markings. From their heads to the bottom of their spines, they have a black stripe. They have huge ears and eyes for nocturnal navigation, delicate pink noses, and pink paw pads.
